OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2007. On the instruction of the President, the head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy Sergey Kiriyneko appeared in State Duma today with bills “On Rosatom State Corporation or Nuclear Energy” and “On Amendments to Some Laws of the Russian Federation in Connection with the Adoption of the Federal Law “On Rosatom State Corporation for Nuclear Energy”.” He noted that the adoption of the bills would ensure the integrity of the nuclear industry and the state policy in the sphere.

On behalf of the Committee on Energy, Transport and Communication Valery Yazev recommended the MPs to adopt both bills.

Anatoly Lokot, Sergey Baburin, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Igor Chernyshenko, Sergey Chaplinsky and Nikolay Gonchar asked Kiriyenko and Yezev questions about the corporation.

Vladimir Kashin (Communist Party), Vladimir Zhirinovsky (Liberal Democratic Party), Ruben Badalov (SpravRos-Rod), Mikhail Babich (United Russia), Sergey Chaplinsky took part in the discussion.

Both bills have been adopted in the first reading (with 360 and 352 “pro”s respectively).
