OREANDA-NEWS. On October 09, 2007 the headquarters for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP met in Idomlja for summing up the results of Sept and to outline plans for Oct-Dec, reported the press-centre of Kalinin NPP.

A.Manokhin, construction executive of the Udomlja office of Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproekt (the general contractor of the project) was glad to note that in Sept the general contractor spent 121% of the capital investments. Presently, the personnel are preparing the construction site, restoring the infrastructure, building a helicopter platform and non-radioactive waste storage facility.

“We are moving at a high pace but we can’t increase it any more without recruiting new personnel. In Sept we recruited 460 people and now we have 1,598 workers,” Manokhin said.

In Oct the personnel are to finish the preparatory work: to get ready for the winter, to erect the BK-1000 crane and to prepare a site for the cooling towers.
