OREANDA-NEWS. Significant events took place in the life of Zaporizhstal, which have gone down in the Works’ history. At the beginning of the month the blast furnace collective in a festive atmosphere produced its jubilee 200 million tons of pig iron. At the end of September numerous guests got together at the commissioning of a unique aspiration unit in the sintering shop. At present the electric precipitators on this unit catch and return to production 25% of iron-containing dust.

Together with these significant events in the life of the Works excellent results were gained in all production stages. The month plan was fulfilled according to all the main indices. 478 272 (10%) tons of sinter was produced, pig iron - 300378 tons (104,6%), which is 13078 tons more than planned, steel - 366366 tons (103%) and rolled products - 305944 tons (102%).

Tasks for October

In the current month even more has been planned. At the same time not only the production tasks are to be fulfilled but also certain measures are to be taken to reduce the prime cost of products and to prepare the Works for autumn and winter. It has been planned to produce 490 000 tons of sinter, 295.1 thousand tons of pig iron, 370.3 thousand tons of steel and 310 thousand tons of rolled metal.
