OREANDA-NEWS. On October 05, 2007 Parex Bankas, the Lithuanian subsidiary of Parex banka, announced that it has become the official and sole issuer of Amercian Express credit cards in Lithuania, reported the press-centre of Parex Bankas.

Following the successful cooperation between Parex banka and international company American Express in Latvia, Lithuanian Parex B b ankas will now offer American Express Platinum and American Express Gold credit cards. Amercian Express first started marketing these prestigious cards in Latvia over two years ago.

In Lithuania, as in Latvia, American Express credit card service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, both inside and outside the country, providing exceptional card use conditions and advantages, including purchase insurance, fraud protection, as well as special offers at home and abroad. Moreover, Parex Bankas will be the only bank in Lithuania to attract local merchants to ensure American Express credit card service in shopping areas.

The introduction of American Express credit cards into the Lithuanian market is the next stage in a successful cooperation between Parex banka and American Express. Parex banka became the sole authorized issuer of American Express cards in Latvia in May 2005, and it currently offers three types of cards to Latvian residents - Amercian Express Platinum, American Express Gold un American Express Blue.
