Russian-Spanish Seminar on Express Trains Begins
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 05, 2007 a Russian-Spanish seminar on express trains has begun, with representatives from the Russian and Spanish ministries of transport and managers from ADIF, the Spanish rail authority, taking part. Russian Railways is represented by First Vice-President Vadim Morozov and Vice-President and Head Engineer Valentin Gapanovich, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
”Russia is fully engaged in creating a high-speed rail link. We intend to set up a modern, high-speed rail network using the most advanced technology and breakthroughs. The experience of high-speed rail links in Spain is very valuable to Russian Railways, especially with regard to the construction and maintenance of railway lines, the production of equipment for the upper part of the lines, the use different types of rolling stock on one network, the preparation of the legal basis, the signalling system and electricity supply and a series of other issues. The training of engine drivers and train teams is also of key importance,” said Vadim Morozov.
