IMB Opens Representative Office in Belarus
OREANDA-NEWS. International Moscow Bank (IMB), member of UniCredit Group, opened a representative office in the Belarus Republic (Minsk), reported the press-centre of IMB.
The representative office is to focus on building up and maintaining efficient relations with Belarusian enterprises and companies, as well as on providing banking services to IMB clients operating on the territory of the Republic. The bank will also support relations between local and international businesses, benefiting from its shareholders’ potentialities.
Belarus is one of the leading CIS countries by economy growth rates. Facing the opportunity of entering the Belarusian market IMB took into account the active development of such economic segments as machinery construction, metal-working, fuel industry, timber industry, petrochemical industry, woodworking, pulp and paper industry and building materials industry.
According to Erich Hampel, Head of the CEE Division of UniCredit Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMB, UniCredit Group believes that the Byelorussian market has a good potential for growth. “UniCredit Group is already present in Ukraine and additionally we are in the process of acquiring ATF Bank in Kazakhstan. Opening a representative office of IMB in Belarus is another step in strengthening our presence in the CIS countries”, underlined Erich Hampel.
Yuri Tverskoy, Chairman of the Board of Management of IMB, noted that Russia and Belarus have long-lasting partner relations. “For many companies of the Belarus Republic, Russia has been and remains a key business partner. Opening a representative office in Minsk, IMB aims to optimize financial communication between Russian and Byelorussian companies as well as to offer high quality banking services on Byelorussian market”, said Yuri Tverskoy.
Sergey Ovseychik is appointed the Head of the Representative office of IMB in Belarus. Within a long period of time, Mr. Ovseychik was representing interests of Russia, Belarus and Tajikistan in the Board of Directors of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) (London). He also had experience of working with International Moscow Bank, where he was responsible for corporate client relations from 1997 to 2000.
Today IMB is one of the leaders in providing financial products and services among top Russian banks. IMB has over 260 thousand private clients, 8 thousand corporate clients, and 9.2 thousand clients representing SMB segment.
