VAB: Borrowing to Older Clients Will Inevitably Come
OREANDA-NEWS. Today most financial institutions give consumer credits only to clients not older than 60, or exceptionally 65, reported the press-centre of VAB.
But, in the opinion of the general director of VAB Express, Sergey Ozerov, the expansion of the age category of borrowers is inevitable. The amount of unreliable borrowers grows in fact, and in principle financial companies must constantly extend the client base. Researches are showing that the more senior the borrower, the more conscientious he is to repay credits.
"3rd age clients are the least risky of the banks client segments. On statistics, of the number borrowers senior to 45 years only 2% do not return a credit. It is a very low index (15% annually), allowing substantially to reduce the cost of credits for the people on retirement. In addition, we recently prolonged the maximum age of borrowers to 70 years and we believe that by year's end most banks will offer special credit products for 3rd age clients, who have a stable income such as a pension and, possibly, a pay-envelope", Sergey Ozerov explains.
