Armenia Suggests that Russia Take Part in Country’s Uranium Mining
OREANDA-NEWS. Armenia suggests that Russia take part in uranium mining in its territory and construction of new unit of Armenian NPP, Prime Minister of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said during a press-conference in Moscow.
He said that he had submitted the projects to the newly appointed Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov. Tomorrow, Sargsyan is planning to discuss them with the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko.
Besides, Armenia suggests that Russia enhance the efficiency of its companies in the Armenian territory. “I am glad to know that Mr. Zubkov has already instructed relevant authorities to take relevant measures. The key obstacle to even more effective cooperation is the lack of land routes between the countries. That’s why we suggest enhancing the capacities of the existing routes.”
Sargsyan pointed out that his country could supply Russia with construction materials: cement, stone. They could be used not only in Sochi but all over Russia.
“The Russian side has welcomed the projects as they are mutually beneficial. I am sure that in the near future we will reach specific agreement on them.”
Sargsyan has invited Zubkov to visit Armenia. “I think that we will meet very soon,” he said.
