OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2007. In September 2007 PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” placed 140 thousands UAH to the account of Outpatient Department №1 at Municipal Hospital № 4 for rooms’ overhauls and equipment purchase.

Rooms’ overhauls at the expense of PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” funds were performed to European standards and sanitary requirements: floors, walls and ceilings were repaired; out of date windows were replaced with metal-plastic ones; split-systems were installed in each room; inner finishing of equipment sterilization room with glazed tile was performed; waiting room was zoned according to patients’ wishes.

PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” also donated funds for Municipal Hospital №4 to purchase and renew necessary equipment for these rooms. Sterile storage, gynecological chair, laser therapy apparatus, syringes, trays, bathes for instruments thermal treatment and other medical equipment and instruments were purchased.

Amount of funds donated for rooms’ repairs and equipping made up 140 thousands UAH.
This work was performed in order to carry out the items of social and economic agreements concluded by PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” with municipal social organization “Association of the Works lady-workers” and Municipal Hospital № 4.

Having initiated the conclusion of social and economic agreements with local associations and Mariupol City Counsel, PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” became the founder of unique practice for Mariupol in the field of business social responsibility.

“Azovstal social projects are aimed at raising the level of social protectability not only for Azovstal workers but also for the citizens of Mariupol. We understand that people who work at PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” are its most significant part and they will work enthusiastically if they feel that they are taken care of”, said Aleksandr Lyubyy, HR and Administration Director of PJSC “Azovstal Iron and Steel Works”.

During the last years PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” follows the policy of corporate social responsibility admitted on SKM Group basis. From early 2006 to the beginning of September 2007 PJSC “Azovstal Iron & Steel Works” rendered assistance to Mariupol patient care institutions at the amount of 5 mln. 200 thou UAH to purchase materials and medical equipment, transport means, to pay transport services and to repair rooms.
