OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2007. The Board of Directors of JSC OGK-5 approved the EPC contract between OGK-5 and IBERDROLA INGENIERIA Y CONSTRUCCION, S.A.U. for the construction of a 410-MW CCGT unit at Sredneuralskaya GRES.

Under the contract, the contractor shall complete works and complete the Works and hand over to the Client the fully equipped, installed, tested, tied in and commissioned facility. The commissioning of the new combined cycle unit is scheduled for 2010. The total price of the contract is expected to total about $430m, including the price of the main equipment.

Earlier, within the framework of project implementation, OGK-5 signed the main equipment delivery contracts. The manufacturer of the MS 9001 FB gas turbine is General Electric; the steam turbine with the district heating mode is manufactured by Skoda, while the heat recovery steam generator is manufactured by Nooter/Eriksen. Related works in the preliminary phase of the investment project were executed by Black&Veatch Special Projects Corp.

Anatoly Bushin, CEO of OGK-5, said that the approval of contracts by shareholders is a new step in implementation of OGK-5’s investment programme. “The Urals is the key region for the successful development of OGK-5. Our investment projects are very important for this. Construction and equipment supply contracts allow OGK-5 to go over from prospective planning to actual construction of new facilities”, said Bushin.
