OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2007. JSC Russian Railways (JSC RZD) and CJSC Transmashholding have signed two contracts for production and shipment of 212 new main line electric locomotives designated E5K and EP2K in 2007-2009.

The contracts were signed by JSC RZD president Vladimir Yakunin and chairman of CJSC Transmashholding board of directors Dmitry Komissarov.

According to the agreements 109 E5K four-axis AC freight locomotives manufactured by Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant and 103 EP2K six-axis passenger DC locomotives manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod will be shipped to JSC RZD in 2007-2009.

The two models are now being exhibited at EXPO 1520 (international show of rail equipment and technologies) in Sherbinka.
