OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2007. “An Agreement on liaising between Bryansk region authorities, JSC “FGC of UES”, JSC “IDGC of the Center” and JSC “Bryanskenergo” while implementating investment programs on increasing power supply reliability and connections of new consumers to the power grids for 2007-1011” will be signed  on Monday, September 24.

The Agreement will be signed in order to develop and technically modernize the power industry of the region,  set up a unified power supply service area,  reduce cost per units for grid maintenance and power losses, and provide conditions for power transport tariffs reduction.

High priority program on the construction and reconstruction of the power grid units to exclude power shortfall and improve the reliability of JSC “Bryanskenergo” power grid complex operation, with a program of  priority measures of JSC “FGC of UES” for the power grid units of the Unified National Power grid of Bryansk region, calculation of investment programs financial sources and responsibility for their implementation are attached to the Agreement.

The aggregate investments to the power industry of the region will amount to 4,09 bln rubles, including JSC “Bryanskenergo” – 2,33 bln rubles and JSC “FGC of UES” – 1,76 bln rubles. The sources of finances will be the property and attracted funds of the power grid companies.

The signing of the Agreement is substantiated by the dynamic economic and social development of Bryansk region, accompanied by a substantial growth of power consumption in he region. In 2000 the power energy transport through JSC “Bryanskenergo” grids amounted to 2 bln 982 mln kWh, while the previous year (2006) power consumption exceeded 3 bln 768 mln kWh.

Major investments in the power complex have been made possible due to the outcome of restructuring the industry. The Agreement is aimed at increasing power supply reliability and grid capacity, providing conditions for new technological connections and increasing capacity for the previously connected customers, as well as, excluding power shortfalls in the conditions of constant power consumption growth.
