JSC Kazanorgsintez Continues to Develop New Assortment
OREANDA-NEWS. At HDPE plant of JSC Kazanorgsintez after large-scale retrofit developing of new brands of product, which are manufactured with new high-performance licensed catalysts.
Since 5th till 16th of July first branches of bimodal HDPE (PE 100 type) of PE2NT11-9 and PE2NT11-285D grades were produced. Technology for these products manufacturing was performed by single-reactor technology according to License Agreement with “Univation Technology” with assistance of Licensor start-up team. There were manufactured pipes for certificate test using first batch of PE2NT11-9. It should be done to confirm that produced HDPE belongs to the group of materials, characterized with minimal rupture strength (MRS) 10.0 MPa. Tests durability to confirm group belonging is 10 000 hours. Perspective area of application of PE2NT11-9 is pressure pipes manufacturing, especially for gas supply systems with pressure up to 12 bar and water supply systems. Material originality is guaranteed with its bimodal molecular structure, providing high strength characteristics and processibility. PE2NT11-285D is also characterized with bimodal structure, but its receipt doesn’t contain light stabilizer – technical carbon. This product can be recommended for production of marking bends for pressure pipes, high-strength films and, with technical carbon addition (technical carbon concentrate), composites for pressure pipes manufacturing. At present time most part of tests is completed, which confirms that new products corresponds to announced requirements. It test center of closed stock company “AND Gastrubplast Plant” certificate tests are performing to confirm type, preliminary result of which may be received by the beginning of 2008. Technical department works about new Technical Assignment development and receiving of sanitary-and-epidemiologic certificate for new products. Planned terms of new technical documentation functioning – November 2007.
Since 14th of August till 2nd of September first industrial branches of new HDPE grades produced – PE2NT22-12, PE2NT21-13, PE2NT26-16 and new grades of linear LDPE PE2NT15-10, PE2NT17-11, PE2NT17-5, PE2NT18-11. It was produced about 6000 tons of new products totally.
In the future new HDPE grades PE2NT22-12 and PE2NT21-13 should replace traditional grade 277-73, used for injection molding processing, and PE2NT26-16 will replace 276-73 grade, produced for a long years and used for blow molding processing. Licensed catalyst feature is productivity, equitable with traditional S-9 catalyst, it possesses with more ability to control as molecular weight as final product density and, as a result, performance characteristics. Traditional grades 277-73 and 276-73 are homopolymers and, as a result, higher density without any possibilities of control in more or less wide range. At the same time, copolymerization – modifying comonomers incorporation into molecular chain, such as butene-1, hexene-1 provides density control and, as follows, physical-mechanical properties of polymer. New licensed catalyst performance allows to use these possibilities. But even homopolymeryic PE2NT22-12 grade, as a grade, produced at S-9 catalyst, without comonomer, is characterized with higher physical-mechanical properties than HDPE 277-73. New grades as for injection molding PE2NT22-12 and PE2NT21-13, as for blow molding PE2NT26-16 have “enhanced” stabilization receipt. It guarantees higher thermo oxidation destruction resistance during all lifetime, including final consumer processing. At present time there is great team-work kept to advertise new high density brands, technical assignments and sanitary-epidemiological expertise are developed. New technical documentation will become valid at the end of November 2007.
As regards to new linear low density polyethylene production, first production of this brand was kept after first retrofit stage at the end of 2005. PE2NT05-5 grade was sampled by some consumers, technical assignments were developed and began functioning. During last two years interest about these grades was increasing. During last two years PE2NT17-11, PE2NT17-5, PE2NT18-11 are developed for different applications, mostly for different processing types, as for packing stretched film produced by blown extrusion - PE2NT15-10, PE2NT17-11, PE2NT17-5 as for flat slot extrusion - PE2NT18-11. Looking at results of new brands usage we may appreciate if we justified consumers expectations. Technical department began to develop technical assignments and sanitary-epidemiological expertise for this group of products. New technical documentation is planned become valid by the beginning of December 2007.
