Telasi Completed the Reconstruction of High-Voltage Substation
OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2007. JSC Telasi carries on overhaul of high-voltage substations owned by the company within the framework of the project for power-grid rehabilitation.
The company has completed the reconstruction of the Bagebi high-voltage substation which on the 7th of September was opened in a ceremony by General Director of JSC Telasi Yuriy Pimonov and the Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava.
The unit of the 110-kV Bagebi substation supplies one of the central and densely populated districts of Tbilisi. The network of the object includes 139 6/0.4-kV transformer substation which supply 15,821 subscribers of the Vake district. Compared with other high-voltage substations of JSC Telasi the Bagebi unit, in terms of statistics of newly connected subscribers, is the most fast-growing substation, which stipulates the necessity to develop additional electric power capacity. Over years 2006-2007 the number of subscribers in the Vake district has increased by 1,232.
For the purpose of reliable power supply to the subscribers the company has performed the overhaul of the substation.
A new 6-kV indoor switchgear has been built in the territory of Bagebi where 36 new vacuum-type distribution devices have been installed and a 42-line circuit leading to them has been laid. 12 cable lines with the aggregate length of 17.6 km have been replaced. A new 40-MW power transformer and a modern control board have been installed.
As the result of the Bagebi rehabilitation the quality of the operative control over the substation has increased considerably. Both the number of emergency shutdowns and the duration of their elimination have dropped down. The supply of electricity to the subscribers has become much more reliable.
Within the framework of the rehabilitation project Telasi sees its aim in complete reconstruction of all the high-voltage substations of the capital city.
