OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2007. Over the period from the beginning of 2006 to September 2007 PJSC Azovstal Iron & Steel Works granted 13 million UAH financial support to the city budget for implementation of the social development program.

For years Azovstal as a socially responsible company have been rendering financial assistance to the city. Having the status of the local economic mainstay, Azovstal makes significant investments into the local budget. This year the company’s financial aid has been provided pursuant to the social and economic agreement signed between Azovstal and Mariupol City Administration, which is a unique example in the sphere of the social responsibility of business.

From the beginning of 2006 to September 2007 Azovstal granted 5 million 200 thousand UAH to health care institutions for purchasing materials and medical equipment, vehicles, payments for transportation services, repair of buildings.
This year the Cabinet of Ministers have also allocated funds for preparation of housing heating systems for autumn and winter seasons: 1 million 100 thousand UAH. In addition, 334 thousand UAH was provided by Azovstal for city transport maintenance, cleaning of streets, repair of roads etc.
As part of the municipal social program, in 2006 Azovstal donated 2 million 400 thousand UAH for revamping of one of Mariupol main streets – Azovstalskaya. This year it is planned to allocate 1 million 500 thousand UAH to continue revamping of this street.

Out of the total amount channeled for social and economic development of the city, over 500 thousand UAH was provided to school #40 and lyceum – school #14 for repair of buildings, preparation for the new school year and upgrading of training facilities. Moreover, schoolbags and school things were presented to first graders for the total amount of 400 thousand UAH.
From the beginning of 2006 to September 2007 the total financial aid to school #40 and lyceum – school #14 amounted to 1 million 350 thousand UAH.

“We are investing substantial money into production development, Azovstal infrastructure, product quality improvement. We are building the future of our city as confidently as we are building the future of our company”, Azovstal HR Director Alexander Luby said.
