Oil Export Via the Port of Primorsk up 14% in Jan-Aug 07
OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2007. In January-August 2007, Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC exported 49.269.5 million tonnes of oil (+14%, year-on-year), Administration of the port of St. Petersburg reports. In the reported period, 495 vessels entered the port and 493 vessels left the port of Promorsk.
Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberia oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tonnes. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tonnes of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tonnes.
