OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2007. The official opening of five playgrounds took place on the eve of the Day of Knowledge, August 31st. KhTW which is a part of the largest Ukrainian mining and steel corporation "Metinvest" has presented the children with them.

Equipment for the playgrounds was designed under special order of Khartsyzsk Tube Works. The places for installation were chosen taking into account requests from the dwellers of the city: all applications for installation of the playgrounds submitted to municipal executive committee were satisfied.

In the opinion of the mayor of Khartsyzsk Valeriy Dubovoy: "Partnership relations between KhTW and municipal authorities are a prominent example of realization of the principles of corporate social responsibility. Social oriented projects of the plant and the contribution that KhTW makes into the development of the territorial community gives evidence of its status of a city-forming works. In particular, KhTW carries through regularly preparation for the new academic year of its sponsored school №3. This year the workers of the plant gave a hand in repair works of school №6, appropriated money for refurbishment of the roofing in one of the kindergartens. It is always a pleasure for me to point out social orientation and involvement of KhTW workers and the Director General Andrey Shyshatskyy in the problems of the city".

As the Director General of KhTW Andrey Shyshatskyy pointed out, during the opening ceremony of the playgrounds: "Children are our future and we are responsible for them. The installation of playgrounds is only the first stage in the program of development of leisure opportunities for children in Khartsyzsk which we are going to realize in 2007-2008. The next step will be installation of sports centers for teenagers".
