Specifically, "Methodical instructions for maintenance of stand- by protection of lines 110-220 kV and automatics of control over switch SHE2607011021, SHE607 016", published recently, are the result of joint еfort by "ORGRES", branch of JSC "Engineering Center UES", JSC "Tatenergo" and NPP "EKRA, LTD".

These instructions are designed on basis of Manuals for operation of these cabinets produced by "EKRA" considering the expertise of conducting the start-up-adjustment works and operation of the cabinets in the power systems. It includes the technology, scope and sequence of check-ups during the new turning of the cabinets, recommendations for time limits for maintenance and their sequence.

Tatarstan power system is one of those that has the 7-uear experience in operating these microprocessor protections. Multi-functions, accuracy, permanent characteristics, possibility to make measurements, registration, oscillography, indication of modes and events, possibility of valid ASU TP proved the necessity of further application of this device.

Seven years ago at substation "Kinderi" was installed the domestic microprocessor protection, designed by Cheboksary company NPP "EKRA, LTD". Later the terminals were installed at substations"Bugulma-500, "Southern", "Nizhnekamskaya", "Savino", "Setyakovo", "Chistopol-220" , "Kargali", "Western", "Novokremlevskaya" and Zainsk Condensation Plant. Today in Tatenergo they number three hundred. In September such cabinet of stand by protection of lines will be utilized at SS "Bugulma-500", till the end of the more 10 cabinets will operate at Zainsk Condensation Plant.

Due to big number of served at various objects microprocessor devices, specialists from "Tatenergo" arrived at solution of their reliability in operation and developed relations with supplier for making start-up-adjustment, maintenance, repair and upgrading. From the start of operation the specialists of PRA of "Tatenergo" knew of each issue of ideology of construction of the devices, consulted the developers, advised on operation, measured the operational modes, took part in acceptance of facilities by inter-department commission.

In Tatarstan power system the electro-mechanical devices are replaced by the state-of-the-art microprocessor devices, that will enhance the reliable supply of electricity to consumers. In the recent years the hundreds of PR and PA produced by NPP "EKRA", Shneider Еlectric, JSC "ELARA", NPP "Prosoft-Systems", JSC "Radius -Automatics", ABB, NTTS "Mehanotronika" and others operate in Republicаn power system. Rates of utilization of microprocessor protections and automatics in Tatenergo are by 2.5-3 times higher that the average figures in the industry.
