OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2007. Sevmash will take part in 8th international exhibition "RAO/CIS OFFSHORE 2007" devoted to oil and gas resources development of Russian Arctic and continental shelf of CIS countries. Exhibition will take place from 11 to 13 of September in Saint-Petersburg.

Such forum is held once two years in Saint-Petersburg and beside exposition it includes conducting of thematic round-table discussions and business meeting.

Projects of Arctic oil and gas resources development are priority conversion disciplines for largest defense yard of Russia. Sevmash will take part in "RAO/CIS OFFSHORE" for the second time, and this year it will present wide exposition devoted to building of marine platform, civil ships, equipment for hydrocarbon production and processing, floating power units.

Managers of exhibition are Ministry of natural resources of RF, Federal Agency on subsurface use, Federal Agency on power engineering, OAO “Gazprom”, OAO “Lukoil”, Research Institute of natural gas and gas technology. Organizational committee is headed by Minister of natural resources, Y.P. Trutnev, Governor of Saint-Petersburg, V.I. Matvienko, President of OAO “Gazprom”, A.B. Miller, President of OAO “Lukoil”, V.Y. Alekperov, President of OAO “NK “Rosneft”, S.M. Bogdanchikov. Organization committee members are famous Russian scientists E.P. Velikhov, А.E. Kontorovich, I.V. Gorynin, А.I. Gritsenko, А.N. Lmitrievsky, S.N. Kovalev, О.L. Kuznetsov, V.I. Pashin, I.D. Spassky.

World-famous companies including Aker Kvaerner, ConocoPhilips, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Shell, Norsk Hydro, Total, Statoil take part in RAO/CIS Offshore. Russian companies will also present their achievements in marine oil and gas production area.

Questions concerning shelf geology, drilling technology, designing of marine oil and gas structures, floating engineering facilities for oil and gas production, underwater pipeline, international cooperation when developing shelf of Russia and CIS countries will be discussed during conference.
