OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2007. Currently there is a cellular connection at accommodation camps of the Khakanjinskoye deposit (Khabarovsk territory) and Lunnoye deposit (Magadan region), as well as at the Omsukchan and Dukat settlements (Magadan region). The cellular connection services are provided by JSC “MTS”.

Providing cellular connection to the Khakanjinskoye deposit was rather complicated through its remote location from the continent — in the Okhotsk region of Khabarovsk territory, 92km to north-west from the settlement Okhotsk.

"Reliable connection not only optimizes production process, but also has a positive effect for employees, who spend a long time at the remote camps", — commented Managing Director of JSC “Okhotsk Mining and Geological Company”, Gennadiy Kuzmenko.

Cellular connection equipment installed at the Khakanjinskoye deposit includes a satellite antenna and standard base-station of satellite network. The station is operated off-line and can provide a signal remote to 5km.

"Corporative cellular connection at Khakanjinskoye deposit is the first project amongst the gold producers in that region", — said Vladimir Osipenko, Subsidiary Director of “MTS” in Khabarovsk territory.

The same project has been implemented in Magadan region. Development activities to install cellular connection base stations were completed in early 2007.

The operation of Polymetal’s subsidiaries, as well as the increase of production capacities requires an intensive development of infrastructure facilities, which is one of the Company’s priorities.
