OREANDA-NEWS. On September 06, 2007 the journalists visited the company’s museum and design department. They met with the director-general designer of OKBM V.Kostin who told them about the 60-year history and the current activities of his company, reported the press-centre of OKBM.

Particularly, he told the journalists that OKBM is designing the first floating NPP in the world (in Severodvinsk), high-temperature gas reactor, BN-800 (fast breeder) reactor (Beloyarsk NPP). Kostin pointed out that OKBM plays an important role in the present-day Russian nuclear power industry, especially now that Rosatom has launched a large-scale development program. 

Deputy Director V.Ruchkin told the journalists about the social policy of the company and its work with personnel. 

The journalists agreed that they should actively inform the public about the activities of OKBM, its plans and the people working there and that objective coverage of nuclear energy problems is an important step towards overcoming radio-phobia.

The sides pointed out that such meetings are important and useful and agreed to meet regularly.
