OREANDA-NEWS. On September 03, 2007 in pursuit of the Prime Minister’s assignment on holding open interactive online class (course) with the Head of state, JSC Kazakhtelecom has made available broadband access to the Internet via ADSL technology with a rate of 512Kbps to 1000 state schools in various regions of Kazakhstan, reported the press-centre of JSC Kazakhtelecom.

Providing access to the Internet to the kazakhstani schools is an important aspect of social and public-oriented tasks of the Company. For these purposes, a switched access to “The kazakhstani Internet” to state schools of Kazakhstan is provided free of charge from February 1, 2007.

In a whole, to date a number of state schools across the country makes up 7 785, of which 94% have access to the Internet. 89% of schools are Internetized by JSC Kazakhtelecom. All in all, as many as 1200 schools have access to the Internet via ADSL technology, with 6108 schools having the opportunity to get access to the Internet via dial-up modems.
