OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2007. The conferees are also discussing Instrument of Nuclear Safety Cooperation, a long-term TACIS program which is to replace the program launched in 1992 and successfully completed in 2006.

Specialists of Kalinin NPP and Suez-Tractebel company (Belgium) are taking part in the conference. After the meeting the Belgian guests are to visit KNPP and to inspect the equipment received under the TACIS program.

The TACIS On-Site Support program was launched at KNPP in 1992. Since then the plant has carried out a number of projects aimed at improving its performance and safety, particularly, it has launched condenser ball cleaning, circulation pump testing, pipeline corrosion monitoring systems, replaced fire security systems, implemented Automated Control System-Repair project, equipped its Crisis Center.
