OREANDA-NEWS. On September 03, 2007 Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) imposed administrative fine upon "VympelCom" OJSC for violating the antimonopoly legislation. The amount of fine is 100,000 Rubles, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 8th August 2007, FAS Russia found that "VympelCom" OJSC breached Part 1 Article 14 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition".

"VympelCom" violated the law by calling to the clients of competitors - mobile operators and offering them to enter into a communication services agreement. The Antimonopoly Service considered such actions as unfair competition.

Under Article 4 of № 135-FZ Federal Law of 26.07.2006 "On Protection of Competition", unfair competition means any actions of economic entities (a group of persons) towards obtaining advantages throughout their entrepreneurial activity, which violate the legislation of the Russian Federation and are inconsistent with the established business practices and the principles of integrity, reason and justness, and inflicted or can inflict damages to other economic entities - their competitors, or caused harm or can cause harm to their business reputation.
