Ukraine: Railway Administration Postpones Raising Price for Tickets
OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2007. The price of railway tickets in Ukraine between September 1 and October 31 will remain at the August level, an order by the Transportation and Communication Ministry reported, reported the Official website http://www.kmu.gov.ua.
The price for railway tickets already increased in March, May and July 2007. According to the Transportation and Communication Ministry's order of January 27, the regular rise of tickets' price was slated for September 1 and November 1,5% each time. The general increase of passenger carrying tariffs in 2007 was supposed to reach 25%.
Meanwhile, the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (UkrZaliznytsia) means to close 2007 with 600 million UAH revenues from cargo tariff rise. The May 15 decree of the Transportation Ministry approved stage by stage increase of cargo carrying cost in 2007. Since September 1 the tariff increased by 2%, since October 1 it will raise by 2%, since November 1 by 1.9% and since December 1 by 2%.
