OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2007. FSUE Russian Post continues recovery works to establish postal communication in the damaged region in Sakhalin, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

Since 6th of August post offices № 2 and № 5 pay out regular pensions. Central post office presently set in the building of OJSC Dalsvyaz and another one in the street near the post office № 1 work for the pensioners. By 13th of August 2007 all the pensioners served by post got their money. Pensions were paid till the end of payment period dated by 20th of August.

Since 8th of August 4 post offices № 1, № 2, № 5 and central post office operate in Nevelsk. Post office №1 gives out insurance post. Due to the shortage of production areas in Nevelsk post sends only notifications of post receipt. Parcels and packets are delivered in urban post offices on addressee requests. It should be noted that post arrived for the citizens can be sent to the temporary places of residence of the citizens in Nevelsk.

Post offices in Nevelsk perform collecting and giving out money orders. All of them have protected self-service terminals where customers can use the service CyberDengui.

In the nearest future Russian Post plans to build so called blocked houses with post offices. Within the framework of this post has held talks with administration of the town concerning parcellation on 15th of August 2007.

Postal employees suffered from the earthquake were rendered assistance. The administration of AFPS of Russian Post in Sakhalin sent products to the employees who work in special terms. Postal employees Russia-wide gather money to help their colleagues in Nevelsk. AFPS in Sakhalin region opened transaction account to get voluntary contributions from Russian Post’s colleagues.
