Rosatom Is Going to Create Guaranteed Uranium Reserve in Angarsk
OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2007. Rosatom is going to create a guaranteed uranium fuel reserve at the International Uranium Enrichment Center in Angarsk, the secretary of Rosatom Nikolay Spassky said at a roundtable in Moscow on Tuesday, reported the press-centre of Rosatom.
“We are actively working to create a guaranteed uranium reserve at the International Uranium Enrichment Center in Angarsk and have done a lot to this end.”
“Initially, we didn’t plan to have such a reserve at the Center but, later, while discussing the project, we decided that the Center should have some guaranteed reserve to be able to supply fuel under force majeure conditions,” Spassky said.
He said that the IAEA is already examining this possibility. “So, in the near future we may take specific steps in this direction,” Spassky said.
