Unit Value of Exports in Latvia Increase 15,2% Year-on-Year
OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2007. Compared to corresponding quarter of 2006, the unit value (UV) for exported goods in the second quarter of 2007 increased on average 15,3 percent. The UV for imported goods rose by 5,9 percent, according to Central Statistical Bureau, reported the press-centre of AS “PARITATE BANKA”.
Compared to the previous quarter, the UV increases were 3,1 percent for exported goods and 2,5 percent for imported goods.
Compared to the first quarter, the average level of export UV in the second quarter of 2007 was raised mostly by the UV increase of 1,7 percent for base metals and articles of base metals.
The average UV level for exported goods was raised by the UV increases of 1,3 percent for wood and articles of wood and of 1,1 percent for mineral products.
Over the same period, the greatest lowering effect (by 0.6 percent) has been due to a fall in the UV of transport vehicles. The decreases of UV for textiles and textile articles as well as for machinery, mechanical appliances and electrical equipment lowered the average UV level of exported goods by 0,3 percent.
Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of import unit value in the second quarter this year was raised mostly by the UV increases for machinery, mechanical appliances and electrical equipment as well as for mineral products (by 1,2 and 0,6 percent, respectively).
The overall UV level of imported goods was raised by the following UV increases: 0,4 percent for base metals and articles of base metals and by 0.2 percent for prepared foodstuffs as well as for miscellaneous manufactured articles. Over the same period the greatest lowering effect (by 0,2 percent) was due to a fall in the UV of textiles and textile articles.
