OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2007. Shell Global Solutions International B.V. officially informed OMK of the issue of a certificate confirming the compliance of large-diameter pipes (LDP) produced by the TESA 1420 shop (JCO line) of Vyksa Steel Works (VSW), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), with Shell's standards, reported the press-centre of Shell.

According to the official letter from the company, "the technical examination results will be reported to all partners of Shell Global Solutions International B.V. VSW will be included in the list of manufacturers complying with our requirements."

Last year, Shell Global Solutions International B.V. issued a quality certificate covering products of the TESA 1020 line (UOE line) and the coating line. "This will enable us to take part in Shell's bidding under its 5-year procurement program," OMK President Vladimir Markin said. "The new certificate extends our prospects for cooperation with Shell and proves the compliance of our products with the world standards again."

"We started working to obtain the Shell quality certificate 3 years ago," said Aleksandr Parunov, Head of the OMK Project and Bidding Sales Department. "We are as delighted with this success as with receipt of the DNV certificate for participation in the bidding related to the Nord Stream subsea section."

Documents for the Shell five-year procurement program bidding will be accepted as of September 5.
