OREANDA-NEWS. On August 22, 2007 presentation of the book "Three billion. HISTORY" published in the framework of the OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library Series was held in Almetyevsk, reported the press-centre of OAO TATNEFT.

The event was attended by the top management of OAO "Tatneft" headed by N.G. Ibragimov,  First Deputy General Director for production and Chief Engineer, as well as by the heads of the Company's divisions, veterans, and representatives of youth and trade union organizations of the Joint Stock Company, students of the Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute, representatives of the mass media.

The book presented to the public is the fifth volume of the "HISTORY" Section of the OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library Series. The book narrates of the formation and development of the oil industry in Tatarstan. The abstract of the book states: "Individual destinies, individual people and their selfless work are behind everything that was created in the oil industry of Tatarstan during the period of 60 years. This book is a tribute of memory and respect for the veterans, who were standing at the roots of the industry, the expression of pride for a new generation of oilmen: for all those who used to expand and is still expanding the experience and traditions of OAO TATNEFT through their work and creative talent".

About 7,000 people are mentioned in this unique publication. 70% of the photographs in the book have been presented for the first time. The experts have been involved to work on the book such as the Scientific, Public and Editorial Boards the OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library as well as the Deputies of the General Director of the Company, many business managers of the Joint Stock Company and the veterans. A total of 47 experts have reviewed the book. All this has been made for the purpose of meeting the challenge set by the Chairman of the central editorial board of the OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library and the Company's managing director S. F. Takhautdinov: "No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten."

Speaking at the presentation, N.G. Ibragimov, First Deputy General Director for production and Chief Engineer of the Company thanked all those who had participated in the work with the book highlighting the Chairman of the Scientific Board, V.P. Lavushchenko, Deputy General Director of OAO TATNEFT on economy, Chairman of the Public Board, S.A. Garifullina,  Deputy Chief of  the technical and economic information department of OAO TATNEFT as well as the Publishing House "Law and Order" (Moscow). Commenting on the importance of the book, N.G. Ibragimov called it a textbook of life for the present and also future generations of the oilmen.

The book series "OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library" is a special corporate project reflecting the history of making and development of one of the largest national oil companies. The books are published by the "Law and Order" Publishing House (Moscow). The first books: "Book of Glory" (2 Volumes), "Annual Reports" (1 Volume) and "History in Documents and Figures" (2 volumes)" were published and presented to the public at the end of 2005. Those were followed by the publications in the Sections "Treatises" and Biography OAO TATNEFT Top Managers". The book "Three billion. HISTORY" is the twentieth in OAO TATNEFT Corporate Library Series.
