Meeting on Gazprom International Oil and Gas Projects Held
OREANDA-NEWS. On August 24, 2007 Alexander Ananenkov, Acting Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee moderated a meeting at the Gazprom Headquarters as regards the execution of the Company’s international oil and gas projects, reported the press-centre of Gazprom.
Attending the meeting were Vasily Podyuk, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee, Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, heads and specialists of the core business units of Gazprom, VNIIGAZ, Gazflot and Zarubezhneftegaz.
The meeting underscored that while developing as a global energy company, Gazprom was active in setting up the entire chain from hydrocarbon production to marketing at the Company’s new markets and on the basis of production capacities abroad.
To that end, the participants discussed issues relevant to hydrocarbon exploration and production offshore Venezuela, Vietnam, India and the Caspian Sea. Particularly, the parties examined the results of geological survey and Gazprom’s participation outlooks for said projects as well as pointed out that Gazprom was studying possibilities of getting involved in oil and gas projects in Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Libya and Pakistan. The parties underscored that Gazprom’s participation in international hydrocarbon exploration, production, transportation and marketing projects opened new horizons for the Company to develop and diversify its business.
Additionally, the meeting discussed issues relevant to further improving the management system for Gazprom international projects so as to increase their execution efficiency.
The meeting resulted in the adaptation of decisions targeted at promoting the Company’s business within international oil and gas projects in order to rapidly switch from hydrocarbon exploration and prospecting to production. The Company’s core business units and subsidiaries were tasked to prepare proposals on the Company’s business geography diversification.
