"Ukrainian Danube Navigation" Picks up Steam
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2007. Things are looking up for OJSC "The Ukrainian Danube Navigation" ("UDN") with UAH 9.7 M surplus on the estimated net profits in the first half 2007, the company's President Oleh Tytamir said. Inland water transport accounted for 55,6 percent of the said proceeds, reported the Official website http://www.kmu.gov.ua.
The company traditionally ships ores, coal, coke, metals, and mineral fertilisers to Austria, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
The Transport and Communications Ministry is the sole stakeholder in the "UDN", which employs 660 vessels weighing around 1 M tons.
