OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2007.  The emergency warning system is integrated into the main equipment of OAO Tulachermet - blast furnaces. In the blast furnaces no. 2 and 3 a new system of tuyeres burnout detection based on measurements of water expenditures will be installed. The results of the tests which had been held on one of the tuyeres of the third blast surface by the experts of the central automatics laboratory for the last year showed that, the new system is more perfect compared to the previous one as it allows to reveal the traces of the tuyeres burnout at its earliest stage.

Devices which help to check the tuyeres' condition are made by the Japanese company
"YOKOGAWA”. The sensors allow to control the quantity of incoming and outgoing cooling water in a tuyere. In the working tuyere these quantities should be equal. If the volume of outgoing water decreases there is a possible burnout of the tuyere. At the second blast furnace the new system of burnout oftuyeres will be installed during a major repair of this furnace which will take place at OAO Tulachermet in August. After that, the same system will appear on the third blast furnace.
