Rocket and Space Corporation Energia Will Take Part in MAKS-2007
OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2007. S.P.Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia will take part in the 8th International Aerospace Show (MAKS-2007), which is to be held in Zhukovsky near Moscow during the period of August 21 through 26, 2007.
The corporation is represented within the framework of the common program for participation of the Federal Space Agency companies and organizations in the work of MAKS-2007.
The S.P.Korolev RSC Energia booth in Pavilion F has exhibits on the manned and unmanned space systems, launch vehicles, rocket and space technologies and elements of spacecraft structures, manned space stations, unmanned spacecraft and rockets.
The Corporation put on display a full-scale mockup of the world’s first Earth artificial satellite Sputnik, which was launched on October 4, 1957, marking the beginning of the mankind’s space age. The fiftieth anniversary of Sputnik launch is one of the historically significant space anniversaries observed by the world community in 2007.
The manned space hardware is represented by Soyuz and Progress spacecraft and the International Space Station, where the development and operation of the Russian Segment and some of its most important modules are the responsibility of RSC Energia as the prime contractor in Russia for manned space programs.
One can get acquainted with the S.P.Korolev RSC Energia present-day activities in the field of unmanned space systems by viewing a full-scale mockup of an Earth remote sensing spacecraft based on an in-house-designed multi-purpose satellite bus, which has eight years of spaceflight certification (used by the Corporation for communications and Earth remote sensing satellites since 1999). There are also some other projects on display that are based on this satellite bus.
The exhibits include unique designs for on-board systems and hardware for manned and unmanned space products of the Corporation, including high-pressure (up to 350 kg-f/cm2) spherical bottles intended for compressed gases – oxygen, nitrogen, air, xenon, helium. This hardware is manufactured by the RSC Energia’s Experimental Machine-building Plant.
We invite you to visit the exhibit of S.P.Korolev RSC Energia located at Booth 11 in Pavilion F.
