OREANDA-NEWS. The first meeting of the operational headquarters for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP took place at the plant on Aug 16.

The head of the Capital Construction Department of Rosatom Aleksey Tutiaev, the deputy director general of Rosenergoatom Alexander Polushkin, the deputy director for development of Rosenergoatom Dmitry Tveritinov, the director of Kalinin NPP Leonid Martynovchenko, the director of the general contractor of the project, Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproject, Valery Limarenko and representatives of other contractor organizations took part in the conference.

They discussed the preparatory work, equipment deliveries, necessary documentation and contracts and other questions concerning the project.

The state contract for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP was signed on July 23 2007. The owner of the project is the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom), the general contractor - Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproject. 35 pages of the contract specify its terms and the duties of its parties. The functions of the supervisor and coordinator of the project have been conferred on Rosenergoatom, who also has a share in the construction of the unit. Presently, the general contractor is going through licensing procedure. 

While summing up the results of the conference, Limarenko said that all the participants in the meeting clearly knew their duties and tasks. He wished them good luck. “This is a huge and interesting project and it is very important for our state,” Limarenko said.

After the meeting the conferees visited the construction site.
