OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2007. On 2nd August OJSC North-West Telecom received an official decision of the Court of Arbitration of the city of Moscow in respect of the claim of OJSC N.W. Telecom against the Interregional Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service for Major Tax-payers No. 7 (MIFNS) as to recognizing invalid a decision of the tax authority on calling the tax-payer to account.

By its decision the Court of Arbitration partially satisfied the claim of OJSC North-West Telecom, having recognized as ungrounded extra charging of taxes to the amount of 296 million roubles (68% of the total amount of tax claims).

At the same time, the court recognized justified the claims of MIFNS against OJSC N.W. Telecom in respect of the charging of taxes to the amount of 141.5 million roubles ( 32% of the total amount of tax claims) under payments for termination of long-distance traffic.

OJSC North-West Telecom , being a law-abiding tax-payer, intends to continue disputing the tax claims in the arbitration court of appeal .
