OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2007. There was another press conference of Vladimir Boyko, people’s deputy of Ukraine, the Chairman of the board of “Ilyich iron and steel works PJSC”. The meeting with journalists, which took place on the verge of the Metallurgists’ day, was dedicated to the results of the enterprise’s performance in the first six months of the year and particularly to the problems of
technical modernization of production and development of social sphere of the metallurgical giant and its nature protection programs and the results of their implementation.

Vladimir Semenovich noted that despite the unprecedented capital repairs, performed at the works of late, in record-breaking terms, the first six months of the year of 2007 have witnessed production growth in all types of production, except steel. All envisaged measures of technical modernization plan were actually carried out and realization of social programs continues.

There is a substantial progress at other enterprises of PJSC. In the first six months of 2006 they brought us losses, amounting to 22 million of hryvnas, however this year they’ve given us 50
million hryvnas of profit. As far as the agricultural complex is concerned, profitable shops in Crimea and in Uman were mentioned as the examples.

The journalists, of course, asked questions not only about production and economic situation in the country. Politics, the forthcoming general election and, certainly, football were among the top-subjects. So, Vladimir Boyko pointed out that promotion to the Premier League is the task for “Ilyichevets” football club this season.
