OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2007. CJSC Transmashholding will deliver to JSC Russian Railways, its main customer, a bunch of 100 TEM18D updated diesel shunters with a new driver’s cab in 2007. The shunters are manufactured by Bryansk Engineering Plant (Bryansk, a CJSC Transmashholding member).

The shipments are performed under the contract signed between JSC RZD and CJSC Transmashholding at the beginning of 2007.

Transmashholding delivered 42 TEM18D diesel shunters to RZD implementing its contract commitments in the first half of 2007.

A total of 58 TEM18DМ locomotives of a similar design are scheduled for delivery this year (the locomotives starting with №183 will have the new model name as agreed with the customer, the №189 and further shunters will be painted differently).

The updated TEM18DМ (TEM18D) locomotives’ advantages over the previous TEM18 model include:

• better driver’s cab meeting the contemporary sanitary standards, fitted with two driver’s control boards with an electronic controller; climate control system incorporating heating, ventilation and air conditioning; KL-7500M.0-02 seats; electric heating windows; plastic inner plating;
• microprocessor control and diagnostics system;
• CLUB-U security system;
• on-board power supply system based on a VST-26/3300 synchronous exciter and a three-wire rectifier;
• telematics TSKBM driver’s wake control system;
• electric dynamic brake.
