OREANDA-NEWS. August 8, 2007. In the first half year of 2007 PJSC "Azovstal Iron & Steel Works" transferred 549.1 million hryvnas to the budgets of all levels. This amount is almost twice more (262.1 mln. hrn.) than the Works’ assessments for the similar period in 2006.

The increase of tax payments’ amount was due to the enterprise’s profitability increase thanks to the increase of the enterprise operating efficiency as a result of business-processes optimization and constant investments into modernization of the production basis.
PJSC "Azovstal Iron & Steel Works", which is one of the largest budget-donors of Ukrainian and local budgets, makes its contribution into development of Ukrainian economy, not only paying taxes timely and in the full scope, but also making constant investments.

The high level of the Works tax culture obtained recognition at the state level. Judging from evaluation results, State Tax Administration in Donetsk region found Azovstal to be the Best Tax-payer of Mariupol according to the results of 2006.

As a socially responsible business, the Works is also working on realization of the programs aimed at labour conditions improvement, safety measures improvement, and also increase of social guarantee level. Successful operation of Azovstal allows to increase steadily the Works personnel well-being and to provide one of the highest levels of wages in this industry in the country.
