Yuriy Chertkov Appointed Director of MMC Kola Division
OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2007. General Director of Kola MMC, Yuriy Chertkov has been appointed the Director of Mining and Beneficiation Division of Kola MMC starting August 1, 2007.
Yuriy Chertkov was born on April 16, 1957. He graduated as a Mining Engineer from Leningrad Mining Institute named after Plekhanov.
His career started at the Zhezkent Mining and Beneficiation Complex in Kazakhstan. From 1979 to 1985 Yuriy Chertkov worked there as Mining Master, Head of Underground Mining Unit and finally Deputy Chief Engineer of the Orlovksy mine.
From 1985 to 1989 - Head of Underground Mining Unit of the Shaft Construction Department of Bor-Undur Soyuztsvetmetshahtstroi in Mongolia.
In 1989 he resumed work at the Zhezkent Mining and Beneficiation Plant as the Mining Master and Head of Undergroung Mining Unit at the Orlovsky Mine.
From 1991 to 1994 – Chief Miner, Head of Production Technology Unit, Deputy Director of the Altaisky Mining and Beneficiation Complex
From 1994 to 2000 – Chief Engineer of Bor-Undur Mining and Beneficiation Plant, Chief Engineer and First Deputy General Director of Mongolrostsvetmet in Mongolia
From 2000 to 2007 – Chief Engineer, First Deputy General Director of Russian-Mongolian Joint Mining and Beneficiation Complex Erdenet in Mongolia.
MMC Norilsk Nickel Deputy General Director Tav Morgan said, “Norilsk Nickel Management welcomes Yuriy Chertkov to the Kola MMC management. His strong experience and specific knowledge will help drive further productivity as well as aid in the implementation of the strategic plans of the Kola Mining and Beneficiation Division”.
