OREANDA-NEWS. A meeting of The General Director of OJSC “TGC-5” Eduard Smelov with Rector of Udmurt State University Semyon Buntov and Head of UdSU Chair of Heat Power Engineering Oleg Bartenev took place. Problems of training specialists for TGC-5 were discussed.

As Eduard Smelov said, provision of energy enterprises with qualified staff is a priority goal of the company. Its significance will be increasing together with realizing the company’s investment projects, expanding stations, commissioning new assets and putting modern technologies into practice.

Semyon Buntov spoke on the work of the university on training young energy specialists. He thanked OJSC “TGC-5” Udmurtia branch for its aid in arranging the process of studies. The fact that students have an opportunity to apply their fundamental knowledge to practice is of utmost importance. CHPPs of “TGC-5” Udmurtia branch have become a good place for it. Students prepare course papers and diploma theses there. The branch’s managers are members of the Chair. For many years Director of Udmurtia branch Nikolay Skvortsov has been Chairman of the State Examination Committee on the specialty. As it was marked by Vyacheslav Strakhov, Director of Izhevsk CHPP 2, who has been at the Chair of Heat Power Engineering since its foundation, at the plant students have a real opportunity to learn in full measure what the profession of energy specialist is.

Eduard Smelov discussed further developing the process of studies with the  university representatives. The Head of TGC-5 declared that his next task in turn is to assist in working out the Standard of training heat energy specialists which will meet both modern demands and the company’s needs. It is also planned to actualize the programme of social support of young specialists, which will help to provide the company with highly qualified specialists in long-term perspective.
