OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2007. ОJSC "Теrritorial Generating Company №5" Report on social responsibility and corporate stability for 2005-2006 (Social Report) was highly appreciated by the participants of the Public discussion held at Vyatka chamber of trade and industry.

“Power engineering, other industries and authorities work at common task – developing the region’s economy. We are open to your questions and proposals. We are ready to discuss together the strategy of further developing power engineering considering all aspects: social, economic and ecological impact. And we hope for collaboration in the sphere of TGC-5 activity aimed at forming a solid basis for providing the region’s energy safety, building the foundation for economic and social development, and realization of priority national projects in Kirov region”, said Yuri Zykin, TGC-5 Deputy General Director for technical policy,  opening the public discussion.

TGC-5 put to discussion of representatives of business, public and authorities the aspects of the company’s realizing the principles of corporate and social responsibility. Thus, according to Lyubov Kuimova, Director for interregional relations and non-financial risks, these principles currently form the basis of establishing a new institution of social relations, the relations between business and civil society by way of preparation and public discussion of non-financial reporting. “Accountability, including all aspects of the company’s social mission, its corporate strategy and culture, social and ecological policy, is being put to public verification”, marked Lyubov Kuimova.

Representatives of state authorities, business community, ecological and public organizations took part in discussing non-financial reporting. The Vyatka Chamber of Trade and Industry was the independent moderator at the discussion.

During the discussion, representatives of the interested parties made a number of proposals on reforms carried out in TGC-5, the strategy of its development and increasing its role in socio-economic development of Kirov region. These proposals will be taken into consideration when correcting the company’s development strategy.
