SILPORT's multifunctional infrastructure allows accepting the largest vessels that can enter the Baltic Sea as well as the full trainloads from Russia and the CIS. Sillamae Free Zone (0% taxes and customs duties for cargo in transit) in combination with the fiscal policy of Estonia, the most liberal in Europe (0% corporate income tax on retained earnings), make SILPORT an efficient platform for value-added distribution of cargo to the neighbouring markets of Russia, the CIS and the EU states.
The port was launched for cargo handling in late 2005 and at present there are 6 terminals being developed or operated in SILPORT handling different cargo e.g: oil products, liquid petrochemicals, LPG, general, conventional and oversized cargo, liquid fertilizers as well as servicing passengers.
