OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2007. In July 2007, Belarusbank, together with JSC “Banking processing center”, successfully underwent certification for servicing EMV-standard microchip cards issued by the international payment system MasterCardWorldWide in the acquiring network.

Microchip technologies open new opportunities in the world of non-cash settlements, making it possible to use additional payment and social applications, and make payments with the use of plastic cards safer.

In December 2003, Belarusbank first started servicing EMV cards in the Republic of Belarus, and at the end of 2005 the Bank issued the first VISA EMV-standard microchip card in the Republic of Belarus.
