OREANDA-NEWS. On July 09, 2007 the president of the JSC “Latvijas Krajbanka” Martins Bondars has signed the protocol of intent between the bank and the Ministry of Culture of Latvia on providing generous allocation of funds in support of major cultural phenomenon of Latvia – Song And Dance Celebration, reported the press-centre of  JSC "Latvijas Krajbanka".

Thus the oldest commercial bank in Latvia – “Latvijas Krajbanka” is among the other two major sponsors of the event donating equal share. The other two companies are JSC “Aldaris” (production of beverages) and the mobile telecommunication provider “Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” Ltd.

Each of the three donates 250 thousand lats for the Celebrations, along with additional services, which on the part of the JSC “Latvijas Krajbanka” is providing the participants with identification cards.

At the joint press conference, following the signing of the protocol of intent the president of the bank emphasised the uniqueness of the tradition of the Song Celebration and underlined that the support for the development and sustaining of the tradition is our sacred duty. “It is an essential phenomenon of our culture, which can be compared to the Seven Wonders of the World, but it is closer and warmer than Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China”, said Martins Bondars.

The emblem of the 24th successive Celebration is a symbolic portrayal of the Sun. The whole image consists as of numerous suns varied in size. This leaves the impression that numerous people have brought together their own suns to make them in one large, bright and warm one – the Sun of tradition of Song and Dance Celebration.

The Minister of Culture and representative from the organization committee of the Celebration event stressed that they are pleased to have three successful enterprises as their major supporters for the event and that the three obviously cherish the Latvian identity and sustaining of the rich cultural heritage.
