Kizel SDPP-3 Plans to Increase Alternative Fuel Consumption
OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2007. In Kizel SDPP-3 the first stage of the reconstruction of boiler ZKTI-75- 39F st. No. 17 aimed at increasing burned coke oven gas volume.
For several years SDPP-3 has been using alternative fuel to generate heat and electric energy. Coke-oven gas that is the coproduct of the production of one of the industrial enterprises of Gubacha, is burned here mixed up with natural gas. Based on the reconstruction results it is planned to increase the volume of the burned coke-oven gas in the ordinary chamber furnace with the possibility of nominal load performance. Before the reconstruction the volume of coke-oven gas and natural gas combustion made up 3000mі/h and 7500mі/h respectively. After the reconstruction the ratio will change resulting in higher volume of coke-oven gas combustion - 10600 mі/h and 2500mі/h.
The first stage of the reconstruction has been fulfilled so far: 4 new coke oven gas burning devices have been mounted. It is planned that the new coke oven gas burning devices will provide up to 70% of the rated boiler output, the remaining 30% are planned to be provided by the coke oven and natural gas burners. At the second stage it is planned to mount the gas pipeline for the admission of gas to the boiler unit. At the third stage it is planned to reconstruct the monitoring system. The works are planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of the current year.
It is expected that the project realization will make it possible to reduce the cost price of the production of KSDPP -3, as the cost of coke oven gas is several times lower than that of natural gas.
