OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC "Kovdorsky Ore-Mining Plant" incorporated into the EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company produced during six months of 2007 commercial output at the amount of 4.499 billion rubles (in comparable prices).

Volumes of production of iron-ore concentrate amounted to 2 million 560 thousand tones which is lower than the similar indicator of the previous year by 11%. At that shipment of iron-ore concentrate increased exceeding the indicator of 2007 by 5.7% (2.6 million tons). Increase in shipments of this concentrate is associated with amendment of the market situation.

Production and shipment volumes of apatite concentrate increased by 13.14% (production) and 14.81% (shipment) in comparison with the semi-annual period of 2006 which permitted to satisfy needs of other EuroChem enterprises in phosphorus-containing raw materials.

3.6 thousand tons of baddeleyite concentrate were shipped to consumers over the period from January to June of the current year which exceeds the shipment volume of this unique zirconium raw material in the last year by 6.17%. Kovdorsky GOK is known to be the only producer of baddeleyite concentrate in the world.

Growth of all production indicators has been ensured on account of implementation of large-scale investment programs of OJSC "EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company" which include purchase of mining equipment, technological transport, improvement of ore extraction and enrichment technologies.
