OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2007. BNP Paribas ranks fourth globally in the renewable energy sector in 2006. With $ 1,054.2m financing and eight projects financed, BNP Paribas is the first French bank in the ranking, reported the press-centre of BNP Paribas.

In particular, BNP Paribas has financed three wind resorts in Italy, one in Netherlands, two solar power stations in Spain, one ethanol plant in the U.S. ant the wind resort of La Citadelle in France.

Clean energy transactions reached a record of more than $100bn in 2006. Investment has more than doubled in the last two years, from $27,5bn in 2004 to $70,9bn in 2006.
