Vladimir Yakunin Meets Italy’s Ambassador to Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. On July 17, 2007 Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, and other senior managers from the Company, had a meeting with Vittorio Claudio Surdo, Italy’s ambassador to Moscow, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
The main topics on the agenda were the current state of cooperation between Russian Railways and Italian companies and future prospects.
Yakunin informed the ambassador about progress on joint projects between Russian companies and the Italian firm Finmeccanica. The two sides expressed complete satisfaction regarding cooperation in the rail sector and exchanged their views regarding prospects for future joint projects.
Mr. Sudro noted that Italian companies were interested in the plans of Russian Railways to build infrastructure in and around Sochi, in particular with regard to the development of high-speed trains in Russia.
