OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2007. On the Southern coast of Russia in Taman it is planned to build a big port. The company Sea port of Taman with the help of Bazel, Gasprom and other companies wants to realize such a project.
 
It should be pointed out that during the session of the Maritime Board Sergey Ivanov, the RF senior vice-premier announced that it is very important to build a port there.
 
According to general director of Sea Port of Taman Petr Parinov, the capacity of the new dry cargo port will total 30-35 mn tons per year. The project is worth 60 bn rubles. By the end of the current year the company will have sent a note to the RF Ministry of economical development and trade on the sponsorship of the port. It is planned to ask about 30 bn rubles from the Investfund.
 
Bazel, Russky ugol, Eurokhim and Gaspromexport can become the co-investors. The decision of this companies depends on the Investfund.
 
The building of the port will start in 2008. As P.Parinov said, the company will use the spit of Tuzla made in 2003.
 
The port will have a terminal to handle liquid cargo. This terminal is being built by Toliattiazot and Tamanneftegas. To be more exact, the pier of Toliattiazot is about to be ready. According to Alexey Vinogradov, the representative of Toliattiazot, the company invested about $300 mn in the project. It is planned to put the terminal into operation in 2008.
 
It should be mentioned that it was expected to put the port of Taman into operation in 2006. Due to the plans, by the year of 2015 the port might have the second place (after Novorossiysk) among the Russian ports. Nevertheless the port is being built too slowly. At the same time the project of the port is becoming greater and greater. There are a lot of investors but they have different interests.
